If you're tired of hunting with the pressure of a hundred other hunters, why not try your luck in the natural beauty and tranquility of the Adirondack Wilderness. Early season provides hunters with panoramic views of the mountain peaks dressed in their brilliant fall colors while you stalk your trophy whitetail. Later in the season the woods open up for those long shots at a wary buck. The good conservation of the annual harvest of deer and bear have kept the Adirondack herds at an all time high. So your chances are good if you have the skill and patience to match wits with the smartest, most elusive animal in North America. The amount of time we spend in the woods puts us in constant contact with the favorite haunts and trails of Adirondack whitetails and black bear, so you will be hunting in a productive area on the very first day.

We offer fair chase hunts for sportsmen who appreciate the taste of venison, a quiet walk on a fall day with your rifle, and the comraderie and spirit of hunting camp. The more time and dedication you put into it, the better your chances. We can organize backcountry hunts by foot, horseback, or plane, or stay in the comfort of our base lodge and cabins at Mt. Van Hoevenberg. You can also hunt on your own out of one of our cabins and the advice to make your hunt productive is free. If you are successful, all the facilities to cape, skin, cut and wrap your game for the freezer are here. There are special early seasons for bear, archery, and muzzleloading. Rifles, pistols and shotguns are permitted during the regular season. Call for further information on dates, ruts, and availability.
